Kerry has passed his love of cars and trains to his son and grandson. He created an elaborate train set in retirement for the entertainment of his grandchildren. Kerry finished his career as a realtor for Follis Realty and enjoyed working with people from all walks of life.

Kerry was married to Kathleen Stanton Helm for over 20 years and they had two children, Amanda and James. Kerry met Terri Marshall in 2017, though their families had known each other for decades. In the short time they were married, they developed a deep love for each other and drew closer to God as well.
